ZIMRA Records Strong H1 2026 Performance
ZIMRA recorded a strong performance for the first half of 2026, collecting USD 4.71 billion in net revenue, which was 16.14% above the target of USD 4.05 billion and 46.73% higher than H1 2025. The Authority registered 37,783 new taxpayers, reflecting continued expansion of the tax base, while digital transformation initiatives such as TaRMS and FDMS continued to strengthen tax administration and compliance. Revenue growth was driven largely by compliance enforcement, greater visibility through TaRMS and FDMS and strengthened debt control measures. ZIMRA also reported 98.1% PAYE filing compliance and 92.0% monthly corporate income tax compliance. The Authority’s H2 outlook projects revenue of USD 5.65 billion, while identifying global trade uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, commodity price volatility and domestic liquidity conditions as key risks. For taxpayers, the strong performance signals a more digitally driven and compliance-focused tax environment, with greater emphasis on accurate filing, timely payment, proper record keeping and addressing outstanding tax obligations.
