Confidence is almost never about your size. It's about whether you actually know your job.
One of my team members spent her first few months convinced clients didn't listen to her because she's physically small. She believed it deeply. She isn't alone in that wiring either. A lot of new professionals carry some version of the same story, just dressed up differently.
What I told her then is what I find myself saying to every new person I coach. People don't listen to size. They listen to whoever clearly knows their job.
Once she knew her stuff inside and out, the room shifted around her. Same person, same height, completely different conversations.
That's the part of leadership I keep coming back to. Not the speeches. The slow work of helping someone see themselves a bit more accurately.
If you've ever felt invisible at work, what was the thing that finally shifted it?
