As part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, our ITA colleagues spent time with 13–14-year-old students to talk about something that is already a big part of their everyday lives: staying safe and responsible online 🌐

Through an interactive session, the students explored practical topics including protecting personal information 🔒, understanding their digital footprint 👣, staying safe on social media 📱, creating strong passwords 🔑 and recognizing potential online threats.

The session also went beyond cybersecurity, encouraging students to think about digital wellbeing, respectful online communication and how to respond to cyberbullying. 💻

A big thank you to our ITA colleagues for sharing their knowledge and helping the next generation become more confident, informed and responsible digital citizens. 💙

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Assel Urdabayeva as Head of Audit for KPMG Caucasus and Central Asia, effective 1 October 2026.

In her new role, Assel will lead KPMG’s Audit practice across six countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Assel has more than 20 years of experience in financial statement audits. Throughout her career at KPMG, she has led complex audit engagements across the Caucasus and Central Asia, primarily in the financial services sector. Her deep sector expertise, experience in business development and leading regional engagements, together with her ability to bring strong teams together, will provide a strong foundation for the continued development of KPMG’s Audit practice across the region.

“In my new role, I will focus on the continued development of our practice, closer collaboration between our teams and greater knowledge sharing across the region. We will continue investing in technologies that enhance audit quality and efficiency, while keeping professional judgement, independence and accountability at the heart of our work. We will place particular emphasis on developing one regional team and strengthening knowledge sharing across our markets,” said Assel Urdabayeva.
