Planning for the future does not mean succession on day one and retirement on day two. Succession evolves over time, often over many years, as family circumstances, business goals and individual aspirations change.

Change to the way we invoice our services.

Going forward, we will issue separate invoices for different types of work, rather than combining all work completed during the month onto a single invoice. This applies to services such as:

• Annual accounting work
• Business advisory
• Tax forecasts
• Dividend preparation
• Other ad hoc work, including client training and queries

Our bookkeeping services (payroll, GST preparation, RWT filing, and monthly bill payments) will continue to be consolidated on to a single monthly invoice.

Invoice timing is unchanged – invoices are issued during the first week of each month and remain due for payment on the 20th.

Prior to the due date, you’ll receive an Activity Statement summarising the total amount due for that month. The statement also includes links to each invoice, making it easy to access a copy if required. If any invoices remain unpaid after the due date, you’ll receive an Overdue Statement showing your outstanding balance as a reminder.

If you have any questions about these changes or your invoices in general, please don’t hesitate to contact Kate Ward-Smith or Nicola French in our office.

Check out the latest newsletter article in the Rural Guardian newspaper by one of our own Erin Neale, she will now have a regular spot.

“Can’t you just make it work?” are familiar words my colleagues across NZ will be all too used to hearing. As rural accountants, we understand that the numbers aren’t the reason you get out of bed each day, and when you dreamt about farming growing up, we doubt you pictured yourself sitting ...
