I got to speak in Manhattan, New York at Pace University!
I wanted to talk about the power of words and how the things we say about ourselves can shape our mindset.
Many people say things like, “I am depressed,” “I’m broke,” or “I am anxious,” without realizing that those experiences are not their identity. They are feelings, circumstances, or seasons that can change over time.
Instead of saying, “I am depressed,” try saying, “I have been feeling depressed lately, but I am working through it.” Instead of “I’m broke,” say, “I am experiencing financial challenges right now, but I am taking steps to improve my situation.”
The words we use matter. When we stop identifying ourselves by our struggles and start recognizing them as temporary experiences, we create space for growth, healing, and transformation.
