I believe in love.

I’m just not so sure about marriage.

Those two things are not the same, and somewhere along the way many of us were taught they are.

Love is a feeling, a commitment, a way of showing up for someone. Marriage is also a legal and financial contract, with rules most of us never read before we signed.

You can honor one and still question the other. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re allowed to feel both at once, you are.

Not the forced, “we’re totally fine” kind of friends. I mean the real kind, where you can be in the same room, share the kids’ big moments, and not feel your whole body tense up.

It’s possible. But it’s not a requirement, and it doesn’t happen on anyone else’s timeline.

You can’t tear a house in half.

But in a divorce, someone has to decide what happens to it. And most people don’t know their options until they’re already in the middle of it.

Here’s what you CAN do:

🏡 Keep it, if the numbers work
🏡 Buy out your spouse
🏡 Sell it and split the proceeds
🏡 Delay the decision, in some situations

Here’s the part no one tells you: the right answer isn’t just about the house. It’s about your income, your credit, your support, your timeline, and what you can actually qualify for. Getting one of those wrong can cost you years.
