The IRS is increasing its standard mileage rates midyear, citing recent increases in fuel prices.

Beginning July 1, 2026, the optional standard mileage rates are:
• 76 cents per mile for business use, up from 72.5 cents
• 23.5 cents per mile for medical purposes, up from 20.5 cents
• 23.5 cents per mile for moving purposes for eligible active-duty members of the Armed Forces and certain members of the intelligence community, up from 20.5 cents
• 14 cents per mile for charitable miles, unchanged

That means there are now two sets of standard mileage rates for 2026.

The original rates still apply to eligible expenses paid or incurred from January 1 through June 30. The revised rates apply to eligible expenses paid or incurred on or after July 1.

BREAKING: A newly proposed bill in the Pennsylvania legislature aims to completely eliminate school, county, and municipal property taxes for homeowners aged 75 and older who have lived in their primary residence for at least 10 years.

While the state already exempts Social Security and most retirement income from taxation, this specific property tax elimination proposal is currently in the debate phase and has not yet been passed into law.

What are your thoughts on this proposed tax relief bill for Pennsylvania seniors?

🚨 BREAKING: Student loan rules are changing on July 1, 2026.

If you have federal student loans, you need to understand what's happening before that date.

The SAVE repayment plan is gone. Two new plans replace it: IBR and RAP.

Under RAP, forgiveness takes 30 years, which is 10 years longer than most existing IDR plans.

If you're currently on an income-driven plan or pursuing Public Service Loan Forgiveness, log into the Federal Student Aid website right now and confirm your enrollment status.

The borrowers who get hurt are the ones who assumed nothing changed.
