Happy Birthday, Christi Lofton!

Today we're celebrating Christi, one of the wonderful members of our AGW team!

Christi provides accounting support to our school system clients, and she's not shy about admitting that she genuinely LOVES governmental accounting. In her own words, "I am a nerd." 🤓📊 And around here, that's a compliment!

Her busy season survival strategy? Morning coffee, afternoon snacks, and LOTS of deep breaths. Preferably with a sugar-free iced caramel macchiato and something salty nearby.

Outside the office, you'll find Christi cheering on the Monroe Moccasins or ULM sports, enjoying some Papi Loco tacos, or indulging in a strawberry Bundt cake.

But here's something you might not know about Christi... she's also a published author! That's right! She's written TWO romance novels and a novella! Apparently, balancing the books isn't her only talent. She's pretty good at writing them, too!

Christi, we're so glad you're part of the AGW family! We hope your birthday is filled with all your favorite things, a little relaxation, and absolutely NO spreadsheets (unless you want them, of course). 😂

🎉🎂 Happy Birthday to our wonderful Ms. Jennie! 🎂🎉

Every office has that one person everyone turns to when things get complicated. At Allen, Green & Williamson, that person is Ms. Jennie!

As one of our Audit Managers, Jennie is our resident problem solver, an incredible teacher, and a patient mentor. Whether it's a tricky audit question, a confusing accounting issue, or something the rest of us have spent entirely too long trying to figure out, Jennie is always willing to share her knowledge and help us make sense of it all. We're pretty sure there's not much she hasn't encountered over the years! 😂

Jennie says her favorite part of her job is **working with so many different people**, and that certainly shows in the way she helps and encourages those around her.

When she's not solving accounting mysteries, you'll find her enjoying a walk, tending to her garden, or treating herself to a good cup of coffee. ☕🌷 Her busy season survival essentials are caffeine and walks, preferably with an almond milk latte (no syrup!) somewhere in the mix.

And here's a fun fact we didn't see coming: Ms. Jennie has actually talked to Martha Stewart on the phone! We're going to need to hear that story! 👀

We also asked Jennie what she'd be doing if she weren't in accounting. Her answer? "Retired." 😂 Honestly, after all the questions we've brought her over the years, we can't say we blame her!

Ms. Jennie, thank you for your patience, wisdom, kindness, and the countless ways you make our team better. We appreciate you more than you know and hope your birthday is as wonderful as you are!

🎉 Happy Birthday to our Managing Partner, Tim Green!🎂

Some people help build a firm. Others help make it what it is today. Tim has managed to do both!

As one of the original founders of Allen, Green & Williamson in 1992, Tim has spent more than 34 years leading by example. His intelligence, dedication, work ethic, and commitment to doing things the right way have helped shape AGW into the firm it is today. We're pretty lucky to have him at the helm!

But there's a lot more to Tim than spreadsheets, financial statements, and audit reports!

⛳ When he's not working, you might find him on the golf course, cheering on his LSU Tigers 🐯 (while his wife, Gwen, roots for Alabama... we imagine football season gets interesting at their house 😂), or enjoying one of his favorite Sonic corn dogs.

He's also quite the talented baker, making a mean pound cake! And his talents don't stop in the kitchen. When his grandchildren were born, Tim put his woodworking skills to work, carefully researching and building a beautiful wooden baby bed for them. Because if Tim's going to do something, you can bet he's going to do his homework and do it right!

Whether he's leading the firm, building something for his grandchildren, or debating SEC football loyalties at home, Tim brings the same thoughtfulness and dedication to everything he does.

Tim, thank you for your leadership, your hard work, and the example you've set for all of us over the years. We hope your birthday is filled with family, a little golf, some LSU football, and maybe a corn dog or two!

💀🎃 Meet Barry D. Books, CPA, our newest member of the AGW team!*💀🎃

Barry's been working himself to the bone, but management says he's doing a *skele-TON* of great work!

He's great with numbers, never asks for a raise, and has absolutely no trouble meeting those DEADlines. 💀

Despite being a little thin, Barry has a real head for numbers (and dollar signs 💵), so we think he'll fit right in!

It is with great sadness that we report the kidnapping of one of our poor skeletons. Ben D. Ducted was last seen floating in a tractor beam on Tower Drive and is now missing. If anyone has any information on where Ben got off to, we would really appreciate it!

🎉 Happy Birthday to our Tax Partner, Aimee Buchanan! 🎂

Aimee’s story at AGW is a pretty special one. She first walked through our doors as an intern, and over the years, through a whole lot of hard work, dedication, and probably more tax returns than anyone cares to count, she worked her way all the way up to Partner. We’re incredibly lucky she chose to build her career right here with us.

These days, Aimee describes her official role as “Professional Juggler,” which might actually be more accurate than Tax Partner. During busy season, she keeps that juggling act going with Dr Pepper Zero and sunflower seeds, and when she gets a little breathing room, you’ll find her reading, spending time with her two teenage boys, or treating herself to a drink from Soda Jerk.

But one of our favorite answers on her birthday survey was her favorite part of the job: building relationships. And if you know Aimee, that answer makes perfect sense. She genuinely cares about the people she works with, whether they’re clients, coworkers, or the interns just beginning their own careers.

Aimee, we are so thankful for the knowledge, leadership, humor, and heart you bring to AGW. We’ve gotten to watch you go from intern to partner, and we’re pretty proud to have you as part of this firm and our AGW family.

Our AGW crew joined the MAD Dash at Forsythe Park in Monroe to support the Louisiana Cancer Foundation and its work helping cancer patients right here in Northeast Louisiana.

MAD stands for “Making a Difference,” and we were happy to be part of it. With funds raised staying local, this event gives our community a chance to show up for our neighbors facing cancer. ❤️

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and sponsors who made it happen. We loved spending a Saturday morning together for a cause that reaches close to home!

Friday was a full day of learning at AGW!

We had the pleasure of hosting clients and fellow accounting professionals from across the area for a day of continuing professional education. The morning kicked off with an engaging ethics presentation by Mike Inzina, followed by an update on the new GASB Statement No. 103. We wrapped up the day with a Single Audit Workshop, diving into practical topics that help us better serve our governmental clients.

A big thank you to CC's Coffee House for keeping everyone fueled with breakfast and afternoon refreshments, and to Delta Biscuit Company for a fantastic lunch!

We always appreciate opportunities to learn, connect, and stay current so we can continue providing the best service possible.
