🚩 They don't ask for clarification on unusual/irregular expenses.

🚩 They hesitate or refuse to provide records upon your request.

🚩 They give legal advice without qualification to do so (or a disclaimer).

🚩 Their communication and response times leave you hanging on a regular basis.

My HONEST thoughts on this statement ⬇️

While you can get into A LOT of trouble the more money you have to manage, I see way too many people justify DIY-ing their bookkeeping because: "It's not *that* much money".

Truth is, messing up your bookkeeping (even when you aren't making 6+ figures) can cost you lots in taxes or penalties! 💰

When you start a new interior design business, one of your first investments needs to be a bookkeeping software (and a bookkeeper if you don't know how to use it!).

SPOILER ALERT: You really only NEED one business bank account. 🏦

But, some interior designers opt to open multiple accounts for different reasons.

For example, if you want to make sure you don't touch the money you're saving for taxes, you may want to open a savings account specifically for those funds.

I've seen a lot of interior designers open an additional bank account solely for payroll too!

The key thing I want you to take away from this post is that you need at least ONE business bank account. Running your business out of your personal account is a HUGE no-no! 🚫

Think bookkeeping is TOO EXPENSIVE for your interior design business?

I'd argue it's too expensive NOT to have a bookkeeper!

Here's why:

Without great bookkeeping, you can't make the informed decisions you need to run your design business!
