Help stock local food pantries for the holidays!

The annual Rock the Pantries Food Drive returns Friday, November 6th, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340C A1A South, St. Augustine, and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, 1050 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach.

Last year, our community donated more than 31,000 pounds of food!

This year's drive will benefit 14 local food pantries, including Epic Cure, Inc., St. John's Ecumenical Food Pantry, Pie in the Sky St. Johns, Betty Griffin Center, St. Francis House & Port in the Storm, Home Again St. Johns, and the Homeless Coalition St Johns County, serving families, seniors, and individuals experiencing food insecurity throughout St. Johns County.

Donations of the following items are needed:

Peanut butter and jelly
Canned soups, stews, meats, beans, and vegetables
Canned, dried, or plastic-packaged fruits and applesauce
Pasta, rice, and instant potatoes
Cereal, granola bars, nuts, and crackers
Cooking oils
Diapers, baby food, and hygiene products

Please avoid glass containers, expired food, and items requiring refrigeration.

Simply drive into the main parking lot at either location, where staff will collect your donations. Donors can also enter to win a merchandise package from the two venues!

Every donation helps fill the shelves and support our neighbors in need this holiday season!

Good chowder, great music, and a great cause. The Great Chowder Debate is back!

We hope to see you on Sunday, November 1st, from noon to 4:00 p.m. at The Conch House Marina Resort, 57 Comares Ave., for the return of a longtime St. Augustine favorite.

Enjoy samples of chowder prepared by local restaurants, along with live music from Paper City Hustlers throughout the event. After the Chowder Debate wraps up at 4:00 p.m., stick around and enjoy the Conch House Lounge, where SayLess will be performing from 2:00–6:00 p.m.

Admission is free, and taste tickets are just $2 each. All proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Johns County, supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that help children reach their full potential.

Kim Fader has been in the accounting field for over 25 years and owns Ancient City Accounting, LLC.

She became a licensed enrolled agent in 2001. In September 2010, Kim opened the doors of Ancient City Accounting and has been helping local businesses and individuals with their accounting and tax needs ever since.

Kim and her family moved to St. Augustine in 2002 from Massachusetts and really love it here.

She restored our office building, which was built in 1899 so that when she works overtime during tax season, she’s in a beautiful historic spot. When she’s not at the office, you might see her driving around town in her red 1952 pickup truck. Kim also serves as a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Johns County.

Opa! The Greek Festival St. Augustine is on for Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of St. Augustine, 2940 County Road 214.

For that weekend, the church grounds are transformed into a Greek neighborhood festival, featuring Greek music and dancing, a gift shop, food and drink to enjoy at the festival, and more food to take home for dinner. Admission is free.

The festival is open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

There's also a Holy Trinity Agora (Greek market) and Zaharoplastio (pastry shop). St. Theodora's Gift Shop and Bookstore is also open for the event.
