This past Saturday, the GMA team proudly joined Abigail Janjies in raising awareness for Men's Mental Health by taking part in the Green Point Parkrun in Cape Town.
What started as a team initiative quickly grew into a wonderful community effort, with family, friends, and fellow council members from the IIWC joining us for the morning.
As part of the IIWC's RISE Mentorship Programme, mentees are encouraged to grow, challenge themselves, build meaningful networks, develop their personal brand, and use their voices to highlight important social issues. This month, Abigail chose to shine a spotlight on Men's Mental Health, an initiative focused on creating understanding, breaking the stigma, and encouraging open conversations around men's mental well-being.
Despite the cold, misty Cape Town winter morning, the energy was high, the conversations were meaningful, and the smiles were endless. After crossing the finish line, we warmed up with a well-earned cup of coffee and had the privilege of listening to an inspiring motivational talk by Ylaney Ramlall.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning such a memorable one. Together, we're taking steps, both literally and figuratively, towards building stronger, healthier, and more supportive communities.
