Moving in together? 🏡

Somewhere between deciding whose couch stays and who gets which side of the wardrobe, it is worth making time for a money conversation too.

Have you talked about:

đź’° How you will share household expenses?
đź’ł The debts, savings and commitments you each have?
🏦 Whether you will open a joint account?
🔑 What happens if one person owns the home?
🌱 What you are saving and planning for together?
đź“„ Whether your insurance and estate planning need an update?

You do not need to have all the answers. Starting the conversation can help you begin this exciting new chapter on the same financial page.

At Halpin Wealth, we love bringing people together to make new connections, share experiences and learn from one another.

Last Friday, Financial Advisers Kathryn Liebezeit, Jane Gun and Lin Carey hosted our Women in Business Lunch at George's on Waymouth , welcoming clients, business owners and women from across professional services.

Our guest speaker, Emily Lines, Registered Nurse and founder of Simplified Aged Care Solutions, shared practical advice about navigating aged care and helping older loved ones access the right support.

It was a particularly relevant conversation for the sandwich generation, with many women balancing work, family and multiple caring roles.

Thank you to Emily and everyone who joined us for such an insightful and enjoyable afternoon.

The future of financial planning is looking bright. ✨

Michael Smith recently spent time with prospective students at Adelaide Uni Open Day, sharing what life in financial advice can really look like.

He joined a panel conversation about study pathways, career possibilities and the lessons you only learn after decades in the profession.

A big thank you to Sigitas Karpavicius and Ron McIver for the invitation, and to fellow panellists Krystal Zhong, Tinashe Oliver Mhazo and Madhav Aiyappa.

It was fantastic to meet some very promising future financial planners in the room. đź’š

Investing can feel like a big step.

Maybe you’re not sure where to start. Maybe you’re worried about making the wrong decision. Maybe you feel like you should know more before you begin.

That’s completely normal.

The good news is, you don’t need to have all the answers before taking the next step.

With the right support and a clear plan, you can start building confidence and make investment decisions that feel more aligned with your goals.

Small steps can still move you forward.

Trying to get into the property market right now? 🏡

It can feel pretty overwhelming, especially with Adelaide house prices continuing to climb.

The good news? Property is not the only way to build wealth.

Investing regularly, growing your super, building your career, developing new skills or creating another income stream can all help you move forward financially.

You do not need to wait until you own property to start building your future.

The family home is rarely just bricks and mortar.

It is memories, milestones, routines and a sense of belonging.

In retirement, deciding whether to stay, downsize or access home equity can feel both practical and deeply personal.

There is no single right answer. The right decision is the one that supports your lifestyle, income needs, family circumstances and future care plans.

Swipe through for a few questions worth considering.

Have you ever talked to your kids about inheritance?

It can be an uncomfortable conversation, but avoiding it can leave room for assumptions and misunderstandings.

Will you help during your lifetime? Should everything be divided equally? How much can you give without affecting your own retirement?

Clear conversations now can make things easier for everyone later.

The new financial year is here.

Beyond tax paperwork and receipts, this is a useful moment to ask:

Is my financial strategy still working for me?

Even small shifts can affect the way your cash flow, super, investments, insurance and long-term plans fit together.

At Halpin Wealth, we encourage clients to use the new financial year as a natural checkpoint.

Saving money should not mean putting your life on hold.

Dinners, weekends away, catch-ups with friends and spontaneous plans can still have a place. The key is being more deliberate about where your money goes.

Small changes can make a real difference, from choosing low-cost catch-ups to setting clearer boundaries around spending.

When you are clear on what you are saving for, it becomes much easier to make decisions in the moment without feeling deprived.
