Friendly reminder: if you pay quarterly estimated taxes, your Q3 payment is due September 15. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

That's about a month away, which is the perfect amount of time to pull your numbers together instead of scrambling the week of. If your income has shifted since your last payment (up or down), now's a good time to revisit your estimate with your tax professional so you're not caught off guard.

Questions about what you owe or how to calculate it? We're always happy to help. Reach out anytime.

Last year's tax package, officially known as the One Big Beautiful Bill (H.R. 1), is still shaping the tax picture, and several of its provisions are phasing in through this year and beyond. ๐Ÿ“‹

Filing season for 2025 returns has come and gone (aside from our extension filers, whose deadline is October 15). But that actually makes right now the ideal time to look ahead. Mid-year is when adjusting your withholding, revisiting your estimated payments, or making a planning move can still change your outcome for 2026, instead of finding out about it next April.

Wondering how any of these changes apply to your situation? That's exactly the kind of conversation worth having with your tax professional now while there's still time to act on it.

Curious how it affects you? Reach out and let's talk it through.

Be honest. ๐Ÿ˜…

How do you keep track of your business receipts and expenses?

๐Ÿ“Š A tidy, organized spreadsheet ๐Ÿงพ A shoebox (or junk drawer) full of receipts

Drop your answer below, no judgment here. We've seen it all, and we love a good glow-up story from shoebox to spreadsheet.

A quick reminder as scam attempts continue to rise: your financial data is worth protecting. ๐Ÿ”’

A few habits that go a long way:

Never share sensitive info over email or text, even if it looks official
Use strong, unique passwords for financial accounts
Double check before clicking links in unexpected messages, especially ones claiming to be from the IRS.

The IRS will never initiate contact by email, text, or social media to request personal or financial information. If something feels off, trust that instinct and reach out to us to confirm.

Reference our cybersecurity blog for more information:

In todayโ€™s digital world, cybersecurity is more important than ever, especially when it comes to your financial data. As scams, fraud attempts and phishing schemes continue to rise, we believe itโ€™s essential to stay informed and proactive. Weโ€™re not here to spark fear. Our goal is to create aw...

Today is National Nonprofit Day! ๐Ÿ’›

Did you know the tax exemption that nonprofits rely on today traces all the way back to 1894? Since then, nonprofits have grown into one of the most important parts of our communities, providing everything from food and shelter to education, healthcare, and the arts.

We're grateful for the nonprofit organizations we work with and everyone who shows up to do this work every day. If you lead or work for a nonprofit, thank you. If you love one, today's a great day to send them a note or make a donation.

Consider this your mid-summer nudge: when's the last time you looked at your books? ๐Ÿ“Š

With the year more than half over, now's a great time to catch up on reconciling, review your income and expenses so far, and see how you're tracking toward your goals. A quick check-up now means fewer surprises (and way less stress) when tax season rolls around.

A few places to start:

Reconcile your bank and credit card accounts
Review your profit and loss statement
Make sure receipts are filed, not floating around in a shoebox

If your books need some love, we're here for it.

Backpacks, school supplies, and... tax deductions? ๐ŸŽ’

If you're a teacher, you may be able to deduct certain classroom expenses you pay out of pocket. If you're a parent, dependent care costs and other credits may apply depending on your situation. Rules and limits vary, so it's always worth a quick conversation with your tax professional to see what applies to you.

Wishing all the students, teachers, and parents in our community a smooth start to the school year!

We asked chocolate or vanilla, and you answered. It was close, but chocolate pulled ahead by a narrow margin (sorry, vanilla fans, we still love you).

Thank you to everyone who voted and commented! We loved seeing your picks (and Pat, that LARGE vanilla with twinkle sounds incredible).

What should we ask you next time? Drop your poll ideas below!

Welcome to August! To us, August is the calm before the final stretch to the end of the year. It's the last days of summer before Autumn comes upon us, and before third-quarter taxes and the final quarter of the year. Stay tuned for more fun polls, educational posts and reminders, and surprises.

What are you most looking forward to for this month?
